Compare the bill

# What does the whole course of care cost?

Start with the full bill, then compare like with like.

Fact file: September 26, 2026.

In brief

In offers checked on September 26, 2026, most of the sampled online weight-care services charged a recurring membership with medicine billed separately.

These advertised offers show why you need a separate quote for medicine; they do not give a full-care price for every service.

Separate the parts before comparing the total.

## A medicine price to put in context

For people paying without insurance, the semaglutide (Ozempic) injection offer checked on September 26, 2026 priced the first two monthly fills at $199 each.

It was for new adult patients in the United States using the lowest strengths, with terms running through December 31, 2026.

Once the opening fills were used, the monthly medicine price rose to either $349 or $499, according to the strength.

That is a medicine price, not a total for care. Ask what visits, membership, tests and later help would add. Use the price-tag page for the offer’s insurance terms.

## Put every part on the same page

Request a written breakdown for the visit or membership, medicine, any tests and later reviews. Ask which parts are required and which are optional.

For each service, use the same billing period and list of items. Mark “not answered” instead of treating a missing price as included.

Questions to put beside each offer

Assessment

Does this amount pay for one visit, membership, or care paid for in advance?

Medicine

Is it included, separate or dependent on insurance?

Tests

Which tests are included, and are there other fees?

Ongoing care

What do later visits and messages cost?

### Ask when the opening price changes

The reviewed offers included discounted opening months and lower rates tied to longer commitments.

Ask for the normal recurring amount and the terms for ending a plan. Check what happens if no prescription is issued or you decide against treatment.

A useful written quote says what you pay at the start, what comes later and what is still unknown.

### Keep price and product status separate

As of September 26, 2026, a lower price alone did not allow routine made-to-order copies of a medicine already on sale. The person writing the prescription had to judge that a change made a significant difference for that named patient.

Resolve the medicine’s status before using its price in your comparison. Ask which exact product the quote covers.

### Then ask about cover

A medicine being eligible for insurance coverage does not mean a particular plan will pay for it.

Keep the insurer’s answer separate from a service’s estimate. Once the plan has decided, request the remaining amount you would owe.

Keep the answer.

Ask the same question of each service. Write down the answer and anything still unclear.
